THE CUENCA CITY

Cuenca is one of the most important and beautiful cities of the Ecuador. The foundation of Cuenca was the April 12/ 1557 by the Captain Gil Ramirez Davalos for order of Don Andres Hurtedo de Mendoza Viceroy of Lima - Peru, founded the city that in the present and in the future will have the name of " Santa Ana de los Rios de Cuenca", because there are four abuntant rives: Tomebamba, Machangara, Tarqui and Yanuncay.
